Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.  This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”  Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”  Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old?  Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”  Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes.  So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”  read more

Who do you say Jesus is?  Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.

While Jesus was on earth there was much confusion about who He was.  Some thought He was a wise man or a great prophet.  Others thought He was a madman.  Still others couldn't decide or didn't care.  But Jesus said, "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30).  That means He claimed to be nothing less than God in human flesh.

Many people today don't understand that Jesus claimed to be God.  They're content to think of Him as little more than a great moral teacher.  But even His enemies understood His claims to deity.  That's why they tried to stone Him to death (John 5:18; 10:33) and eventually had Him crucified (John 19:7).  John MacArthur  read more
